Basic Mountain Safety

  1. When possible, don’t run alone.
  2. Always let someone know where you’re running and when you can be expected back.
  3. Run with a charged cell phone.
  4. Always carry identification when running.
  5. Mountain weather is unpredictable. Always be prepared for the worst. Carry at least a windbreaker, basic first aid kit and water when running in the mountains.
  6. Load the emergency numbers on your cell phone:
